Well, I decided to start this blog to document my journey through photography. I hope to write notes on here about what I'm learning and share the images that I capture each day. To start off, a few friends of mine have asked what resources I turned to when I started taking pictures. First of all, I've only been at this for about 8 months so I still don't know what in the world I'm talking about half the time. But I will share the things that have helped me.
1. Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson is one of the best books about photography basics (in my humble opinion). This book really helped the concept of exposure to click for me.
2. The Pioneer Woman: I know you're laughing right now, but seriously that lady has some good stuff on her website. In terms of getting familiar with the basics of photography, learning a bit about photoshop, and being able to download some free photoshop actions, this is a great place to start.
3. I visit ilovephotography.com frequently to read various photography forums and submit my photos to be critiqued by fellow photographers.
4. I read my camera manual. I need to do this again because I know that I've forgotten a lot of things about what my camera can do.
5. I blog stalk photographers. I know...I'm creepy. But analyzing professional photographer's work and reading their advice has helped me immensely.
6. Last of all, the best thing is to just practice. I need to practice a lot more!
That about sums it up. Thanks for visiting!
It's about time! Can't wait to see your latest and greatest :)
